Leadistry is a UK-only B2B database. Here is how we build every record. Here is our legal basis. And here is how long we keep the data.
Public sources, re-verified
Companies House
The official register, via the public API and the bulk data files. It gives us name and address. It gives us SIC codes, incorporation date and status. It gives us charges and directors.
Public sources
We visit each company's own site where we can find it. Public search engines and public profiles help us get there. They help us find the right named contact too. We take only what is already published.
Cache + re-verify
We cache each record. We check it against the source every month. Removal requests are honoured for good.
Where our data comes from
Every record is built from public sources. That includes how we find an owner or managing director’s contact information: the register that names them, the website their company publishes, and the public profiles they keep (our UK director search guide shows how to read the register yourself). Nothing private, ever:
Companies House
The UK government’s official register of limited companies. We use the public Companies House API. We use the bulk data files too. From there we get the name and registered address. We get SIC codes, incorporation date and status. We get charges and filing deadlines. We get director details, including nationality and stated job.
Public company websites
We visit each company’s website where one can be found. We take only what the company has chosen to publish. That means business email addresses. It also means named contacts on team or contact pages. We never sell phone numbers.
Search engines & public profiles
We use public search engines. We use public profiles such as LinkedIn. They help us find a company’s website. They help us find the right named contact. We note a director’s public LinkedIn profile where there is one. We do not log in to those sites. We do not take anything a person has kept private.
Every record starts with Companies House. Then we add the contacts a company publishes on its own site. We check those against public profiles. Data you can trace to a filing.
Legal basis & retention
Legal basis
We process this data under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f), legitimate interests. The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) let us market to corporate subscribers. That means limited companies. We do not need prior consent. We do have to honour every opt-out. And we do.
We do not process special category data. We do not market to consumers. We do not sell personal data to ad networks.
Retention
We keep company and business-contact records while the company stays active on the public Companies House register. We re-verify them from source every month. We remove a company on a valid suppression request. That removal then holds for good.
To remove a company, use the public removal form. You do not need an account.
