What are the reasons an agent looks for?

A reason is a dated fact on a company's public record that gives you a reason to write now. Your email's first line is written from it, so each one is a fact you can check. An agent looks all day for companies with any reason you have switched on.

The reasons

Every reason comes from Companies House, except the website grade, which comes from our own check of the company's website.

• Registered in the last 12 months (or the window you choose)
• First year-end coming up
• Accounts due within 90 days
• Accounts overdue
• Confirmation statement due
• Confirmation statement overdue
• Website graded poor
• Changed its name in the last 6 months

Switching them on or off

Switch reasons on or off on the agent's page, under What it looks for, or tell the assistant. An agent needs at least one reason, so switch another one on before you switch the last one off. Changes take effect within a minute.
