How do I connect my Gmail or Outlook mailbox?

Open the Mailbox page in Settings and press Continue with Google or Continue with Microsoft, then sign in on their page. Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook and Microsoft 365 all connect this way.

Your emails then go from your own address, each one sits in your own Sent folder, and replies come back to your own inbox.

What connecting allows

We ask to send emails as you, and to read your new mail so we can find the replies to those emails and any that bounced. Anything else is ignored and never kept.

Gmail with an app password

For Gmail you can connect with a Google app password instead. That way there is no warning screen from Google. It needs 2-Step Verification on your Google account and a 16-character app password, which takes about a minute to make.

Microsoft says it needs an admin's approval

Some companies' Microsoft 365 only lets an admin approve an app that reads email, and that is Microsoft's own default. Send this link to whoever looks after your Microsoft 365: leadistry.co.uk/mailbox-approval. They approve it once for everyone at your company. Then press My admin has approved it on the Mailbox page.

Google Workspace blocks Leadistry

A Google Workspace can be set to let in only apps its admin has allowed. Ask your admin to mark Leadistry as a trusted app in the Google Admin console, under Security, then Access and data control, then API controls. Help in the app has the client ID for them to copy.
