What happens to a company's data when it is dissolved?

Our privacy notice says we keep company and contact data only for as long as the company remains active on the Companies House register. When a company is dissolved or closed, customers no longer get it as a lead, and we clear the personal details we held for it.

What is cleared

Director names, email addresses, phone numbers, the director's LinkedIn profile and the company's social profile links. The list of the company's directors we held is deleted too.

Companies House has to confirm it

Companies that are in liquidation, administration or receivership are still on the register and can return to active, so their details are not cleared. If our own checks cannot reach a company on Companies House, we ask Companies House again, and we clear its details only once Companies House confirms it has left the register.
