Why does my email need my company details at the bottom?

The law says every business email has to show who sent it, so we put your details in the last lines of every email. Emails cannot go until these details are complete.

What you fill in

On the Template's footer, find your company on Companies House by its name or its 8-character number, and add a business address where you can be reached by post.

If you are a sole trader or a partnership, choose that instead. A sole trader's emails must show the owner's own name. In a partnership, put each partner's name.

The lines you cannot change

Every email also says where the company's details came from and has a one-click way to stop getting emails. The law asks for these lines, so they cannot be changed on the Template.
